Trend Watch: Watches with Blue Dials

In modern fashion, blue has earned its place as a neutral shade. You can pair blue denim with just about anything and a navy suit is a staple in any well-dressed man’s wardrobe. The same approach applies to watches—a blue dial is appropriate to wear every day but adds a little something extra over plainer black, white, or silver dials. Plus, blue dials look equally as good on sports watches as they do on dressier watches. Here are a handful of our favorite watches with blue dials to sport right now.

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M with a Blue Dial

Whether you actually take this watch diving or use it as a daily beater, the Omega Seamaster is a classic. This particular Omega Seamaster Diver 300M ref. 2231.80.00 includes a generous 41mm titanium case on a matching titanium bracelet. The most striking feature, however, is the electric blue bezel with the Seamaster’s characteristic wave pattern. The vibrant shade is an ideal contrast to the large sword-shaped luminescent hands, large luminescent indexes, and date window at 3 o’clock.

As a dive watch that offers 300 meters of water resistance, the Seamaster includes dive essentials like a unidirectional rotating bezel to track immersion times and a helium escape valve to release any gasses built up during decompression periods. Running on the Omega Caliber 1120 automatic movement, this Seamaster provides a 44-hour power reserve.

Breitling Chronomat with a Blue Dial

Ranked as the best selling model the brand makes, the Breitling Chronomat owes it popularity to its sporty and versatile design along with the top quality we’ve come to expect from Breitling. Like many of watches Breitling makes, the Chronomat flaunts an aviation spirit. In fact, the Chronomat was created in the early 1980s, inspired by a chronograph created for the Italian Air Force’s aerobatics team.

Sometimes named the Rolex President due to its famous President bracelet with semi-circular links, this particular vintage Day-Date ref. 1803, circa 1968, actually comes fitted with an elegant black leather strap.
